MLK Day of Service
The USA.gov team today announced the website MLKDay.gov, promoting a day of volunteer service to honor Dr. King’s legacy. The site offers the opportunity to register for a service project already listed on the site, or to create your own service project and notify others.
Unfortunately, my search did not turn up any projects for the Sarasota area, so if you plan to spend Monday doing volunteer work, you might consider registering your project through this site.
And although the Sarasota County Libraries will be closed on Monday for Martin Luther King Jr. Day, we always welcome new volunteers. Sign up at scgov.net/volunteers and stop by your local branch to see how you can help.
