Daylight Saving Time
Daylight saving time starts this weekend—at 2 am on Sunday morning, to be exact. I hope I remember to set my clocks forward before I’m late for work on Monday.
For more information about why we “spring forward” and “fall back,” take a look at these links:
A short description and history from the U. S. Naval Observatory.
The National Institute of Standards and Technology has more details about the current rules and some tips to help with automatically updating clocks that don’t update properly.
For more about the history of daylight saving time, see this article from nationalatlas.gov and this collection of online exhibits.
And just for fun: the official time clock of the U.S.: www.time.gov.
I for one am not too excited about losing an hour of sleep this weekend, but the extra hour of sunshine in the evenings may just make up for it.
